GROWING A TALENT BRAND

As a creative and technology leader, it was essential for NBCUniversal to develop an employer brand that attracts, hires, nurtures and retains the most brilliant and passionate people in the business. With a portfolio of more than 40 brands operating under the NBCUniversal umbrella, the talent brand needed to visually and strategically streamline their career and employee communications while projecting a modern and energetic look-and-feel.

NBCUniversal asked Charley to work hand-in-hand with their internal marketing teams to build out and launch the NBCUniversal: Here you can talent brand. Using the Here you can brand concept created by the NBCUniversal Creative Group, Charley developed a comprehensive EVP visual brand system for their North American and global offices, which included a new career site, social media, events, employee engagement and brand guidelines to standardize and amplify talent brand assets across the organization.

When developing the new NBCU careers website, collaboration with their internal marketing and recruiting teams was key.

 

An integral part of the Here you can campaign was redesigning the experience of the NBCUniversal careers website to unify and streamline digital recruiting across their global network. Charley collaborated with NBCU’s internal marketing and recruiting teams to launch a new careers site with an overhauled user experience, culture-forward content and intuitive site navigation. It was important that potential candidates could easily access job opportunities and search for specific areas of interest throughout the site.

 

To serve the site’s global audience, city-specific graphics and featured location stories emphasize and celebrate NBCU’s geographic footprint.

 

Unifying social campaigns across a portfolio of network brands and theme parks.

 

Personalization is really the heart of the Here you can brand, enabling NBCUniversal to tailor messaging to individuals and inspire them to think big, accept new challenges and succeed in areas that are important to them. Charley created a design and messaging system that unified social campaigns across the portfolio of brands yet allowed for the personality of each to shine through. Campaigns featuring employee stories allowed for posts that micro-targeted different roles and product areas across the brand portfolio. The social media campaigns were also a tool to showcase NBCUniversal’s culture, a key consideration that job seekers weigh when assessing their potential fit with a company.

Elevating Women at NBCU

Celebrating the women of NBCUniversal who make history every day.

 

Women’s History Month presented an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of inclusivity and the important contributions women have made throughout NBCUniversal. The campaign became both a celebration and a rallying cry — Here she can. The design captures stories of women from all levels of the organization, reflecting on accomplishments and challenges in their NBCU roles. The internal campaign featured digital screens, animated graphics and content integration with NBCU’s internal podcast. Externally, Here she can became a social campaign on Instagram to inspire the next generation of NBCU talent.

 

Connecting with the next generation of women technologists.

 

Here you can’s inclusivity extended into live recruiting events for early-career women, where participants could meet with NBCU recruiters to get a hands-on feel for company culture. Charley designed an environmental experience bringing the core values to life through personal brand touches and an interactive photo booth. Large video screens, which bookended the photo wall, played animated stories and videos from the Here you can campaign, highlighting opportunities where women can make their mark, create, innovate and build something new.

 

Creating a toolkit for internal teams.

Charley established brand guidelines and creative templates for the organization’s portfolio of network brands, content studios and two major theme parks that included tone of voice, color applications, typography, icon sets and photography style to standardize communications created by internal teams as the campaign continues to grow.
